It has been quite a long time since i last blogged.
There are so many things running on my mind now.
I shall recall them to the best of my memory:
Last Thursday was our SD concert daimokukai. Went to Orchard mrt to meet Elleen after my lectures. Very unfortuntely, i wasn't able to contact her cos her mobile was flat.
The bizarre thing was that we were both sitting facing back-to-back for more than half an hour without knowing. Suddenly we both turned at the same time and look at each other for seconds before chuckling at our foolishness. Haha.
Daimokukai was an enjoyable one. After that Jin Haw gave us tickets to the International Day of Peace held at HQ the following Friday night.
The next morning Elleen came my house at around 9+ in the morning and we chanted for almost 2 hours. I felt absolutely revitalised (: but after that my mum came back to do housework and was super not happy that i invited Elleen over. started picking on me and grumbling about the unnecessary. i didn't want to quarrel with her so we left the house. sigh.
(if papa is able to do his HR & change so much for the family, why can't
she do it?)
21st September was marked as the International Day for Peace. The whole event was a serious and solemn one, after which everyone was encouraged to take a poppy flower in support of Peace. Saw Ghim Seng & Zaw, and we took an A2 pic together.

Took it at the exhibition. Food for thought: What is Peace?
Saturday went to mama house to fetch my sis home. Mama cooked CRABS!! wooo.. long time ever since i ate home-cooked food. Finger lickin' good! yummy~~ i really love my grandma. she is the best (:
Went to morning gongyo on Sunday and was lucky to be able to secure a seat at my usual spot though i was slightly late. GD Ong shared on a very sensitive topic:
Money.
What makes a millionaire? According to Buddhist scripture, being a millionaire means having good family, good dignity, good financial wealth, good virtues etc. Basing ourselves on faith, we can be a millionaire, one whom is respected by people.
Being financially secure is one good example of actual proof in our daily life. It is as important as 康之财 and 心之财.
Toda Sensei said "Although one's wallet may be empty, there are abundance of money around this world, just that they are not accumulated with us. As long as we accumulate many good fortune, we can still become rich."
Ikeda Sensei said " Wealth, power & knowledge alone do not make us successful. Only by changing our quality of lives, then only we will be successful. The only way to succeed is to first complete what is needed to be done." Which means to take practical actions rather than dreaming for it.
Who are truly successful? People who live their lives fully and glowing with energy. One who can enjoy an unrestraint state of life.
Those whom embraced this Buddhism are truly millionaire. Material wealth cannot be brought along after death. Only by accumulating many good fortune only can we tap on the rich power of the universe to be enjoyed life after life.
Lastly, NEVER aspire to be a millionaire at the expense of faith and practice. On the same day afternoon was our SD concert. The theme was "Pintar el Futuro"(Paint the Future)-The World is Yours to Change! There was a diversified line-up of cultural items as well as video clips made by different institutions. I enjoyed the concert alot and was greatly inspired & touched especially by the video clips, so much so that i shed tears. There are really so many things that we can do to make the world better. Never doubt the ability of only one person. It can make alot of difference. Just like Ikeda Sensei (:
Monday = relentless mugging & hitting the books+notes.
Had sociology test on Tuesday. Sociology is my fav. unit among all and i must make sure i am well-prepared for this test. Dun wanna fail my first ever test in my honours programme. Ha. Woke up earlier to chant longer. But i was
really tired. Chant until i nearly dozed off. Then i overslept on the bus and missed my stop. When i alight, the uncle shut the door so fast that my leg almost got trapped. Luckily i was fast enough, if not i think maybe i will get dragged along the road. Phew. Walked 2 bus stops' distance back to my school. What a good way to start my school week.
The test was pretty much manageable, cos when i read the questions the answers immediately appeared at the back of my head. Finished the paper on time. BUT after the test i realised that i had misintepreted a 2marks qn wrongly. There goes my full-marks target.
Okay, I think i shall stop here for now.. I am too tired to continue. Will update soon (:
