I BOUGHT HR (The Human Revolution) ON SUNDAY!! WOO~!
Wanted to buy it quite long ago, have been hesitating for quite some time, but having heard & deeply inspired by Teck Kiang's sharing last Friday, i feel that it is time. I need to experience it for myself what in the earth is Mentor&Disciple spirit that everyone has been emphasizing about. Moreover, i feel the need and responsibility to encourage my members as a CIC, as well as to do my own HR.
Went to morning gongyo as usual on Sunday, then i went down to basement where the sales department is, and it was SUPER cramped with people. So i went for my breakfast at the nearby coffeeshop and then went back. Yet, it was still packed with people. This time round i squeezed in without having second thoughts. Haha. Last set. Lucky me. Though it costs me 80 bucks but yet i still feel immense joy hugging it back home.
It wasn't easy to read, so far i've read only the first chapter
Dawn. There were quite a number of "chim" words and i found myself flipping through the dictionary more than i flip the pages of the HR. Haha. Teck Kiang shared that his then-NUS IIC challenged them to read HR and study for exams at the same time. And he did managed to almost complete the whole HR during his exam period. Wow. Hmm, i challenge myself to complete Book 1 by this year. Must do it!
Went to every 1st and 15th daimokukai just now. First time that i attended this daimokukai. The youths gathered at SYC together with GD Ong to chant. Saw quite a few familiar faces of GYMCORE ppl on duty. GD Ong chanted at a faster pace as compared to morning gongyo, and it was very dynamic and youthful - the way Youths should be! (:
Later on he shared with us about youths being respectful to the senior members in the organisation, to the people outside and most importantly to our parents & family members. Then he continued to share with us Sensei's first visit to Singapore in 1988. Sensei's first visit to Singapore was a very short and brief one. Some members were puzzled and could not understand how come after praying for so long, they still didn't get a chance to see him. It was because Sensei's main purpose for his first visit is to meet up with the then-Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew. He feels that it is his responsibility to bridge and to clear any misunderstandings pertaining to our religion. He did not want the leaders in Singapore to hinder us in any of our peace movements. Thus, Sensei did not want his first visit to be high profile and create any negative impressions. I was very touched. Indeed, everything that Sensei does, always puts members as his top concern.
Sensei promised us he will be back, and he did, in 1995. He came back once again in 2000, his third visit. We were indeed very honoured and lucky. Till date Sensei has not yet been to many countries, including Taiwan. What did Singapore, a small island did to deserve Sensei not only once, but three times? We were also very blessed to have 3 kaikans fully donated and sponsored by Sensei, namely TSC, Soka Kindergarten and SCC. We must never forget Sensei's heart to want to do something for kofu in Singapore.
He said to GD, "All of my money, are for kosen-rufu. Don't worry about my money, go ahead and do what you are supposed to do, you have my support."
