Tuesday was my first iic-cic meeting in ITAC. Went SYC after school to teach Jerry biology, Min Ling joined us shortly at around 6. The meeting turned out to be only ywds and no ymds cos they were all too busy to come. We had a casual dialogue and updates by iic.
November is going to be a busy month. Apart from weekly Chingay trainings, we will be having our ITAC-YWD BLOOM Meeting, Institution Meeting, Student Peace Lecture, CIC training and all the prayer meetings for 1st, 15th and Chingay. Now already half of my organiser is filled up for the month of Nov. Yet i am full of anticipation.
Wednesday went to school early to meet up with Min Ling to discuss on Campus Connection. Our dear 2 precious YMD counterparts are currently very busy, so we decided to go on without them.
(ASD: "Take The Lead") We discussed on the first topic from our compilations on the Discussions on Youth and came up with a rough agenda on how the whole thing is going to progress. However it was at the later part that we found out that the other members except our own were not informed of the Campus Connection. Obviously the other SIM-CICs did not pass down the message. Members are the crux of our Campus Connection. How can it succeed without the members being informed about it?
We dropped the planning and was rather agonized. It has been almost a month since we joined ITAC, and yet our first intended Campus Connection failed before we can even hold it. Though the HR stated that "The lion seeks no companion. The lion knows no sense of solitude", it was never easy to fight alone. We began to question ourselves whether all the efforts that we have put in are correct and justifiable. As the saying goes, the higher the hopes, the bigger the disappointment. Yes, we were disappointed, at our own disunity.
Then i flipped open my organiser, and saw the little brouchure that was given to us during the 2nd Nationwide Youth Leaders' Meeting. One of the guidances states,
"Leaders should not rely on others. Rather, they should arouse their own strong conviction and pave the way. They should fight resolutely, determined to find solutions to problems. Leaders should provide members with reassurance and give them a sense of relief."We decided to continue striving. Though we may be the only 2 "garang" CICs in SIM or even ITAC, we shall fight on. We are convinced that others will soon realise our progress, and start to keep up with our pace. In this way, only will ITAC advance as one.
We took out the contact list and marked out the ywds in SIM that we want them to be active by this year. We identified 15. We still have 2 months, it is achievable. After that we made an appointment with our new IIC Yong Jie for dinner this Sunday. Wanna seek her guidance and opinions, we hope to improve on the current system that will work out better for us.
Studied in school that night after lecture. First time staying in SIM until night time. When i came out of school, i meet one of the inactive ywds at the bus stop. I know everything happens for a reason, and so that was the reason why i did not want to go home after lecture. Haha. Coincidentally, we took the same bus. Though it was only a half hour chat before i alighted, i felt terribly elated and a great sense of fulfilment! (:
Yesterday's Shunzo Ohno's concert was yet another inspiring experience. I enjoyed his music and testimony totally.
Time waits for no one, let us create another victory before the year ends.*posted on Friday, 26 October 2007, 10.12pm*
