“The Year of Capable People and Advancement”
Daisaku Ikeda
In a passage of the "Record of the Orally Transmitted Teachings," the Daishonin observes, "When you bow to a mirror, the reflected image bows back" (Gosho Zenshu, p. 769). People who respect others are respected by others in turn. Those who are unstinting in their compassion and concern for others are also protected and supported by others. Our environment is essentially a reflection of ourselves.Encouragement for today:

“The Year of Capable People and Advancement”
Daisaku Ikeda
A life lived without purpose or value, the kind in which one doesn't know the reason why one was born, is joyless and lackluster. To just live, eat and die without any real sense of purpose surely represents a life pervaded by the world of Animality. On the other hand, to do, create or contribute something that benefits others, society and ourselves and to dedicate ourselves as long as we live to that challenge-that is a life of true satisfaction, a life of value. It is a humanistic and lofty way to live. Thanks Benjamin for sharing!
Had a 4-hour IBM lecture this morning at 9am. I was smart enough to set my alarm at 6.30am so that i will wake up at 7am after i 赖床. We learnt Marketing today. Rather interesting. Nageb made a remark that those whom does well in Marketing(as a career) are normally those whom are good-looking. I wonder if that is true. Hmm. Anyway i learnt a phrase from him today as well.
"Young is a liability. Age is a virtue."Went to mama house today for lunch after that. She is plain wonderful! I've got my favourite CRABS and TOUFU soup today! She even bought a punnett of strawberries. Ah, i love my grandma to bits. =)
Went for Chingay training today. The scorching Sun is a good sign of our strong daimoku and ichinen. Today
Seaweed is still the only group that is exempted from wearing our inner wear. Haha. Training was as great as usual, except that we had to breathe in the "float" exhaust being the first group to enter. Evonne(from Wave) was making a big hooha the whole of today's training about me cutting my hair and wearing contact lenses. What a cute girl la. Haha, so glad to have know her. Elleen commented that my hair is still rather long and volunteered to trim for me. Hmm, alright =)
It will be not long before Chingay is over. Everything seems to pass in the blink of eyes when we are enjoying. I hope i will be able to achieve some victories by then. Thanks Jerry for the bubble tea =)
Just received an sms from Gina. It goes like this:
"If you feel that your life is painful and agonizing, find a spare moment and pray about your situation. If you pray, then the energy to challenge your circumstances will emerge, and you will definitely find a way to break through. Eventually you will attain a state of life where you can do activities and devote yourself to kosen-rufu to your heart's content, free of all hindrances."Thanks Gina for sharing. Have not seen or talk to her for quite some time. Hope to catch up with her soon =)
Got my estimated time-table for my London examinations in May. I thought it was rather a good fortune not to have tough papers happening back-to-back. I can still afford to have some days in between for my final preparations.
May, 8 : Introduction to Economics
May, 9 : Statistics 1
May, 13: Mathematics 1
May, 20: Principles of Sociology (PSOC)
May, 22: Introduction to Business Management (IBM)
And guess what? Soka Kindergarten annual Independence Camp is on 23, 24 May! What a good arrangement! =)
Ok, i should be ending here. Trying hard to update my blog daily so that those reading will know what am i doing everyday. Suppose if you guys think that i am spending time on too many unnecessary things like going shopping or slacking at home rather then wad i am supposed to do, pls do me a favour by reminding me. Hehe. Thanks in advance for being my whistle-blower.
