i'm not quite in the mood to write but i feel that yesterday's joyous happenings should not be dismissed from this blog (where only drab posts appear, in my opinion)
as usual, i went to Berries for lessons yesterday morning. today is teachers' day and yesterday the children who came for lessons were busy presenting their handwritten cards and gifts to their teachers.
to celebrate this exuberant occasion for the teachers, a board pasted with 18 baby photos were put up at the reception. whose baby photos? of course OURS la.. this is to let those kids play guesswork to match those baby photos to their teachers. haha.
i've received a handful of gifts despite being there for only a month. it felt certainly delectable with a tinge of gratification. it is my job afterall. glad that this kids know the meaning of showing appreciation at their age. =D
"Thank you is a miraculous expression. We feel good when we say it, and we feel good when we hear it. When we speak or hear the words thank you, the armor falls from our hearts and we communicate on the deepest level."
-Ikeda Sensei
Yesterday was also the day of my CFG. It was held at TBSC at 7pm.
The skit went well; everyone was able to bring out their required emotions and was very expressive, be it quarreling or the feeling of dejection. Invited laughters and "wow"s were the best evidence and reward for our painstaking effort over the months.
In addition, the testimonial delivered by Mdm Teh (Trey's mom) from tanah merah chapter was passionate and touching. Tears filled the brim of my eyes after seeing it for myself, the willpower of a woman to stay alive amidst fighting against throat, cervical and nose cancer. She is yet very strong in constitution despite consuming
only water, beverages(milo, horlick etc) and a sweet or two occasionally, for the past 17 years. Her spirit is indeed admirable and indomitable. What a strong and independent WD!
A total of 8 YWDs had also put up a mass dance akin to that of the FD MassDance @ MilkRun. I pretty enjoyed myself for the dance. I felt so young and vibrant. ^.^b
I really think that all of our performers really did a great job in unleashing their hidden potential. It is indeed undeniable that every person has that flair in doing anything, as long as they put their heart and soul into making it a reality. CHEERS!
In addition to my friends, my iron ladies gang Jessica and Xue Yun came down to support me. I had also received a beautiful red rose from Jianli. My lucky charm. Overall attendance was 460, 40 short to our target of 500. Nevertheless, we believe that we had already touched most of the hearts of those present with our genuine sincerity. Well done Paya Lebar South!
